Rasters and Vectors – What’s the difference?
Raster files are ideal for photos or high resolution images. On contrast to this approach used with rasters, if you modify one point within your graphic file like changing its color graduation from red-yellow into green blue then all other points will change too because they’re defined using pixel values rather than shades of

Embroidery FAQ

What Kind Of Artwork Is Required To Digitize A Logo?

One great thing about embroidery, is that we have to recreate your logo from scratch whether you have perfect artwork or a hand drawn stick figure on a napkin. Just email what you have, and we can make it work.

What If My Logo Is Already Digitized?

You are all set and not additional digitizing fees are charged. As long as there are no significant size changes or changes to its overall design, there are no future prep charges. Changing colors, adding simple text or adding personalized names do not typically require any additional preparation charges.

What Are Typical Logo Sizes For Embroidery?

Sizes represent the average size of logo only. Final logo size is determined by customer.

4″ x 4″ – Crest size
4″ x 2 1/4” – Caps / Hats
1/2” x 3/4” – Visors
11″ x 11″ – Full size

What Is Standard Embroidery?

This is the typical look of most embroidered logos where the design is reproduced using standard flat stitching with no effects.

What Is 3D Puff Embroidery?

A three-dimensional effect within an embroidered logo. A small piece of foam is placed underneath the stitching which elevates the design from the surface of the garment. A popular effect for headwear.

What Is Twill Embroidery?

A custom laser cut piece of twill or patch material that is sewn to the front of a garment. This effect is ideal for large embroidered logos or patches sewn onto caps. Because the majority of the logo is twill and not embroidered stitches, it requires less time to embroider which may result in lower costs. It also looks pretty cool. Popular for baseball jerseys, large corporate logos and cap patches.

How Are Embroidered Logos Priced?

The amount of time it takes to embroider a logo is, ultimately, the main determinant of cost.
The quantity of stitches required to complete a design (or “stitch count”) is used as a barometer to estimate how long it will take to complete. Since most logos fall under similar stitch count, we charge the same unless the design’s count exceeds our maximum allowance. If the design’s count exceeds our allowance, a slight upcharge is added to the unit cost.
The challenge we run into, is that we don’t know what the logo’s stitch count will be until we digitize it (Prepare for embroidery). So how is embroidery quoted if we don’t know the stitch count prior to digitizing the logo?
To solve this issue, our representative sets a price based of what they’re best guess is. This initial price represents a worst case scenario bid for the initial order. If the logo’s actual stitch count exceeds our initial estimate, the original (cheaper) price is honored. If the actual stitch count is less than our original estimate, the initial price is discounted to the correct (cheaper) rate. After this initial order, future orders are priced according to the correct / actual stitch count.
The benefit of our quoting system, is that our customers receive a final price without the uncertainty of whether their order will exceed their budget once produced.

Is There Any Way To Avoid The Digitizing Fee?

Stock fonts and simple templates are available to save costs in preparation. Some templates require a slight fee but this is usually a cheaper option than digitizing a custom logo.

Screen Printing FAQ

Can Screen Printing Do Gradients?

Screen printing gradients (shading & fading), is one of the great benenfits of screen printing. By using this technique, multiple color designs can be imprinted for a cheaper price.

Can I Buy The Screens That DJ Imprints Prepares?

No. This is a service we do not offer.

Are Screens Reusable In Screen Printing?

Screens can be used over and over again almost indefinitely. Reusing screens is an advantage because it is less expensive to reset up. We save your screens for 3 calendar months before reusing or reclaiming them for another job.

Is Screen Printing Harmful To The Environment?

Although the use of water based inks offer a greener alternative to plastisol inks, a screen printer’s environmental footprint is really determined by a company’s work flow, energy usage and chemicals used during production. Our plastisol inks are handled with care and water based inks are available upon request. Chemicals used are eco-friendly and 100% biodegradable.

Can Screen Printing Be Removed Or Repaired?

No. Once a garment is screen printed, the ink on the garment is permanently adhered and cannot be removed. Although there are some things we can do to fix a screen printed logo, the only feasible options are to either embroider a patch or heat press a vinyl patch over a certain section.

Can Screen Printing Be Heat Pressed?

Certain vinyl products can be heat pressed over screen-printed designs but the majority of the surface of the vinyl has to be adhered to the garment itself.

DTG Printing FAQ

What Is DTG Printing?

DTG stand for direct to garment printing. Just as it sounds, direct to garment printing is the process of specialized inks being sprayed directly onto a garment. DTG printer’s actually resemble common household inkjet printers. A specialized printhead moves side to side and as it passes, is prints out the image line by line.

What Is The Difference Between DTG And Screen-Printing?

The advantages screen printing has over DTG Printing are lower unit costs (Higher volumes) and durability. In contrast, DTG printing requires little or no preparation, can accommodate poor quality images and uses environmentally safe inks. The most notable difference for DTG printing, is the clarity and the ability to print multi-colored designs at reasonable prices… especially at lower quantities.

Slight Haze Or Transparent Square Behind Design / On Shirt?

Part of the Direct to Garment (DTG) imprint process is to use an environmentally safe chemical to pre-treat the garment prior to printing. For the most part, this chemical evaporates during production, however, there may be a slight haze or rough feeling to the surface of your garment. Please note that this chemical is eco-friendly and washes completely out with the application of simple tap water. It will also not harm any other garments it is washed with.

What Are Typical Design Sizes For Direct-To-Garment?

Sizes represent the average size of logo only. Final logo size is determined by customer.

5″ x 5″ – Crest size
10″ x 10″ – Standard size
12″ x 13″ – Full size
14″ x 16″ – Oversize
